THE NIGHT IS FOR HUNTING by John Marsden Wow. I read this book in one day. That's how enthralling it was. If you don't already know, The Night Is For Hunting is the sixth book from the series that spawned out of Tomorrow, When The War Began. It tells the story of eight young Australians caught in an Australia at war. Over the course of the series, they have struggled to survive but also fight, losing some of theirfriends along the way. The story continues... Compared to its predecessors, The Night Is For Hunting isn't the strongest of the six, but it is thoroughly entertaining nonetheless. The old characters are brought back, and almost immediately we are put back in the action. Being the sixth book, I have to admit the well is becoming a bit dry. Sometimes the situations, although breathtaking, seem contrived. Marsden also introduces us to some new characters, the kids from the end of Burning For Revenge, which adds more characterisation, but also steals the concept of teenagers battling it out. But this was another great installment. I'll try not to give too much away, but Fi's conversation with Ellie near the start was a shock. The action is top notch, despite my disbelief wearing a tad thin. The ending is an absolute bastard, and anyone who can wait a whole year patiently for the next one is a liar. Thing is, if you read the last five, you will be buying this one. If you haven't, well you wont. But I guess I'm reassuring all you followers that its another great installment.
